Pembroke Parish

 

Home to our island's capitol, the City of Hamilton, Pembroke bustles with government, commerce and tourism. Visitors enjoy Hamilton's quaint boutiques, as well as gourmet restaurants and vibrant culture.

Must see: The City of Hamilton features many cultural attractions, local shopping and government buildings.
Beaches: Clarence Cove comprises two little family-friendly beaches known for quiet seclusion — swimming is safe here year-round.
Did you know: In 1815 the capitol moved to the City of Hamilton from the Town of St. George, where it was originally established.

Paget Parish

This central parish's 17 resorts, apartment suites and the like offer a most pleasant stay no matter what your taste. Do not miss a stopover at the Botanical Gardens.

Must see: Paget Marsh — a favourite home for native and migratory bird life.
Beaches: Elbow Beach's pale pink sands evoke wonderment from all who see it. The surrounding protective coral reefs make it one of the calmest shores on the island.
Did you know: Paget Marsh is home to rare endemic plants Bermuda sedge and St. Andrew's cross.

Warwick Parish

Warwick Parish regales visitors looking for some of the best golf and horseback riding on the island. And do not pass up the parish's breathtaking cliffs overlooking superb beaches.

Must see: Bird lovers flock to the annual seabird migration from Astwood Cove and Park.
Beaches:

  • Warwick Long Bay Beach features a jagged coral island appearing to float above the water
  • Astwood Cove and Park, tucked away in a steep cliff, is so remote that it is rarely crowded

Did you know: Warwick Parish hosts the British Commonwealth's oldest Presbyterian church: Christ Church built in 1719.

Southampton Parish

Southampton Parish features magnificent beaches and the finest accommodations from which to enjoy it all.

Must see: Gibbs Hill Lighthouse offers spectacular panoramic views.
Beaches:

  • Church Bay Beach — sheltered by offshore reefs make this a snorkeller's heaven
  • Horseshoe Bay — Bermuda’s most famous beach complete with lifeguards from May to October

Did you know: The Confederate blockade runner Marie Celeste, shipwrecked in 1864, lies in just 17M / 55FT of water off Southampton Parish's southern coast.

Sandys Parish

At the tip of our fishhook island, Sandys Parish is also one of the most picturesque. Explore the unspoiled woodland in the Gilbert Nature Reserve. Then visit one of our island's most beautiful places of worship, St. James’ Anglican Church.

Must see: The Royal Naval Dockyard offers family fun and abundant shopping opportunities.
Beaches:

  • Mangrove Bay — the mangroves and the gently curving shoreline evoke a serene, picturesque quality
  • Parson's Bay — a sheltered beach with coarse white sand and shallow, calm water that is ideal for children
  • Somerset Long Bay — this crescent-shaped beach's isolation will appeal to solace seekers

Did you know: Four admirals rest in peace in Sandys Parish's Royal Naval Cemetery, which dates from the early 19th century.
