The Bermuda Big Game Classic is a three-day big-fish team event with top honours going to the team that tallies the most points during the tournament. Large cash prizes are also awarded for second and third place.
The tournament also honours the team(s) that catches the largest blue marlin and game fish (by weight). Also, a release trophy and cash prize will be awarded to the boat releasing the most eligible billfish. Eligible species include blue marlin, white marlin, spearfish, sailfish, tuna, wahoo and dolphin
This year’s Bermuda Big Game Classic — the 6th annual event of its kind — takes place July 9–13, 2008. In an effort to increase the odds of a marlin bite, the Classic picks the best moon option between the first and second week in July.
