Many of the International Game Fishing Association’s World Record catches were hauled in off of our shores. Why not try your hand at reeling in the catch of the year? Our experienced captains will help make sure this one does not get away.
What is biting, and when
April to November is our prime big-game fishing season. However, in off-season (December to March), wahoo and tuna can still be found. Here are the species you might catch during the best part of the year:
- April: Yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna, wahoo plus the odd billfish
- May: Warmer waters attract even greater yellowfin tuna and wahoo, while the blue and white marlin season kicks off
- June, July and August: Peak season for blue and white marlin, tuna, yellowfins and wahoo. Bonita, rainbow runner, barracuda, amberjack and shark also join the mix
- September, October and November: Prime time for the speedy wahoo. Yellowfins are active and billfish are plentiful
How to get out to sea
Your best opportunity to catch the big one is on a full-day charter. Licensed charter boat operators offer fully-inspected boats and state-of-the-art equipment.
- Rates are approximately BM$600 per boat for a half-day (four hours), and BM$850 per full day (eight hours)
- Rates fluctuate slightly from season to season, due to fluctuation in fuel prices. Charter rates may be obtained by contacting any of our charter booking services or the individual captains directly
